Process Paper
Many steps must be taken in order to have a successful project. I for one believe
that the steps required so far have been accomplished. Much time has been spent
researching my project topic, the invention of the telephone. With the gained
knowledge I was able to produce accurate questions for the interview I had
conducted and just simply be knowledgeable towards my topic.
For the project, I had to decide between creating a documentary
or a website and I had chosen website. I made an account on weebly.com and got
started on my website. I had nothing to upload yet so I only added a picture and
a title.
Researching was the next step in the project. I looked up
information about the invention of the telephone and used reliable sites. To
tell if a source was reliable I would look for an author. Sites such as
Wikipedia are not reliable because anyone can write an idea and post it. I then
collected information about the telephone and about the inventor, Alexander
Graham Bell.
An interview was part of the project so I had to create
questions. I used the information from the sources I found and used that to help
create my questions. I made 8 questions to be asked in my interview. The
validity of the questions is very important in any interview so my research was
an important factor.
Also, to conduct a successful interview, the interviewee should
have background knowledge about the topic. So, I decided to choose my
grandmother, Janet Allen, for the interview because she knows a bit about
Alexander Graham Bell and she has memory of what the telephone was like years
back. I knew she would be a good choice for the interview and so we met
up.
I asked Mrs. Allen my 8 questions and she gave great responses
to each of them. I learned many things about what the telephone was like in her
days of childhood. The advancements since then with telephone have been amazing.
I wrote down the responses on a piece of paper. I later uploaded them to my
website on weebly.com.
